A big, muscular, and brooding style of Pinot Noir (atypically the $50 Auntsfield Estate style… but typically Auntsfield quality), it's beautifully silky and very harmonious. Although made in the same way, when it comes to Luc & Ben Cowley making the final blend for their elegant Burgundian styled Estate Pinot Noir, the incarnation of NZ's most full
bodied richly fruited $20ish Pinot Noir takes place. The more opulently flavoured barrels are declassified into Block 88. Not for lovers of the finer more Burgundian style… Block 88 perfectly fits the palates of tens of thousands of Kiwi Pinot lovers… and I am very partial to it as well. We deal directly with Auntsfield on this wine and have NZ exclusivity, why the price v quality is so incredible. Buy it by the case and keep a few bottles back... there's 5
