In the Encyclopedia of Wines and Spirits of All Countries, Alexis Lichine writes: “In Meursault les Perrières is the best vineyard plot and the wine from the heart of this cru, the Clos des Perrières, is comparable or more beautiful Montrachetâ€. A remarkable wine that can be stored for a very long time, the Clos des Perrières is capable of excellent evolution, as demonstrated in 1999 by a vertical tasting from 1997 to 1895, published in the Bourgogne magazine Today under the title Tout Pres Everest (Close to Everest). This exceptional development was reaffirmed in 2019 at another tasting to celebrate the estate's 140th anniversary.
