- MERCUREY BLANC DOMAINE FAIVELEY 2022 DESCRIPTION
- The Mercurey Blanc by Domaine Faiveley is a pure Chardonnay aged in wood, produced in the C´te Chalonnaise area, a terroir particularly suited to white grapes. It is elegant and expresses, already at the first smell, a bouquet with fruity aromas, notes of white flowers, light honeyed sensations and nuances of vanilla. The sip is energetic and tense, with a mid
- palate characterized by an expressive and rich fruit, well supported by a pleasant freshness of taste.
- The Mercurey Blanc by Domaine Faiveley is produced with Chardonnay grapes, which come from vineyards grown in the C´te Chalonnaise, the southernmost part of Burgundy. The name of the town has a historical origin and derives from the Roman god Mercury, since in ancient Roman times, Mercury was located on the Via Agrippa that connected Chalon
- Sa´ne to Autun. The vines have a beautiful sunny exposure facing south and are grown on calcareous
- clayey soils. The grapes are harvested by hand with selection in the vineyard of the best bunches and the alcoholic fermentation takes place for 60% in French oak barriques, for the rest in steel vats. Before being bottled, it ages for about a year, partly in wood and partly in steel, so as to acquire complexity and structure, without losing fragrance and freshness.
- Mercurey Blanc is a beautiful version of Chardonnay from Burgundy, which expertly combines the expressive richness with the typical mineral freshness, keeping intact the noble varietal profile of the vine. The glass shines with a beautiful straw yellow and the olfactory profile is intense and elegant, with aromas of yellow fruit, floral scents and notes of honey. On the palate it shows a medium body, with a broad and deep sip of beautiful complexity and aromatic richness. The finish is of good persistence and closes on pleasantly fresh and savory notes.
