Cremant de Bordeaux, a sparkling wine, made the same way as Champagne but typically using the local grapes of the region. There are 8 appellations that make Cremant in France and 2 outside of France. Same method, different grape varieties and aged for 9 months on the lees in the bottle versus 12 months for NV Champagne. Basically, excellent bubbles for a fraction of the price. Times are tough and we all could do with a bargain, one that is going to pick us up and make us shine. Louis Couturier will do just that.
