Description
Amarone is the most full
bodied of all Italian wines, this one that former All Black John Kirwan imports weighing in at a whopping 16% alcohol. Its made from a blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, the native grapes of the region. The grapes are dried on racks in the classical fashion to concentrate the sugars, the wine spending 1 years in barrique and then a further 2 years in gigantic 25hL oak barrels. A decadent and velvety wine, this is a gorgeous example of a legendary Italian wine style.
