The Banshee wine project was initially funded by donations from friends and family and this wine is typical of their radical style: an innovative blend of 7 grape varieties and various Californian AVAs; Sonoma County, Napa Valley, Anderson and Mendocino. The wine making philosophy pursues balance, elegance and purity. Mordecai offers powerful and enticing aromas of black pepper, violets, cigar box and cassis. On the palate it is a mouth-watering combination of deep red berry and plum flavours backed by earthy, savoury notes of Mediterranean herbs, before a warming spiced finish.
