The 2019 la Fleur-Petrus is a blend of mainly Merlot with a little Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. in the glass it has a medium garnet-purple color and a slightly closed nose to begin with but which soon unfolds with some time and some oxygen and then release earthy notes of black truffles, mossy tree bark and moist soil over a core of plum preserves, wild blueberries and red currants, with a touch of menthol. De la Fleur-Petrus i is full, rich and enveloping, broad and layered, with beautifully polished tannins, a ripe fruit core and a seamless, enveloping profile. This is an elegantly muscular, generous Pomerol whose luscious personality reflects the warm, dry vintage.
