The 2016 Proprietary Red Continuum is a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Cabernet Franc, 18% Petit Verdot and 5% Merlot. In the glass this marvelous man is colored deep garnet-purple. With an incredible array of seductive aromas of violets, lavender, rose hips, cherry, currant, dark chocolate, cigar box plus hints of bay leaves and some sort of crushed wet slate On the palate the wine is full-bodied with with lively black fruit fueled by red fruit, herbs and mineral accents. It is framed with firm, grainy, super ripe tannins and ends with fantastic scent and freshness. This is (again) a masterpiece by Tim Mondavi and his team and is a wine that can gracefully grow very old without problems. If you wish to drink it in the short term, we recommend decanting it so that the wine can show its true character. You can impose this wine for a minimum of 30+ years.
