The 2017 Pichon Baron is a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot picked between September 18 and October 9 and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels of which 80% are new. The wine has an extremely pure bouquet with black currant, blueberry and graphite aromas with a beautifully defined oak tone that blends seamlessly with the fruit. The taste is medium-bodied with very fine tannins. The wine is disarming and completely harmonious with a stunning mineral body. According to the Wine Advocate, it is the most sensual Pichon Baron that has ever been on the tasting table. The wine unfolds gently in the mouth and leaves with a very lingering aftertaste that stimulates the senses. This is one of the most beautiful vintages of Château Pichon Longueville Baron and has a beautiful drinking window until 2040+
