The Steinriese Spätburgunder is Franz Keller's iconic top model. The Steinriese Spätburgunder (GG) comes from a small plot in the Oberbergen Bassgeige 1er cru. This vineyard is located diagonally opposite the winery. The 100% Burgundy very old Pinot Noir clones grow here with very low yields. The vineyard is located very high (300-350 meters above sea level) and is characterized by the high content of iron oxide and even lime in the volcanic terroir. This gives a very bright, fresh and iodine-like bouquet of wild red berries that is very reducing in its youth, but quite sexy and classy, with algae notes on the nose. In the mouth this is a silky, fresh and very refined Pinot Noir with great tension and juicy concentration. The aftertaste is tight, fresh, salty and full of energy and tension.
