Don Papa rum is an exceptional rum from the Philippines. If this may seem unusual or even incongruous, it should be known that this country is one of the first producers of sugar cane, the basic ingredient of rum. To make matters worse, the distillery is located on the island of Negros, the historic sugar capital of the Philippines, which produces some of the best sugar cane in the world and it is this cane that is distilled to produce Don Papa rum. Once distilled, the rum is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 7 years at the foot of Mount Kanlaon, a region that enjoys an exceptional climate for aging.

The result is a very greedy rum with bewitching notes of vanilla and citrus fruits with a final of a great length where come to add the dried fruits and the honey for a pleasure of tasting tenfold.

Color: deep gold with a hint of copper

Nose: very fruity without being heady with vanilla notes coating citrus fruits (tangerine, grapefruit) and yellow fruits (ripe apricot)

Palate : Very greedy in natural prolongation of the nose with a beautiful harmony between the sweetness of candied fruits, the bitterness of citrus fruits, the velvetiness of vanilla and sweet spices (cinnamon, cardamom)

Finish : Nice length and rich persistence where the notes of vanilla dried apricot and candied citrus fruits are fully expressed.
