- third the size of the common Jade plant. The fleshy trunk, branches, and leaves are used to store water. Our tree is planted in a water pot which has a well on one side that holds water. Water poured in the well DOES NOT provide the water necessary to grow the tree. As stagnant water quickly clouds and evaporates, we recommend filling the well with colored sand, beads, candies, etc., to mimic the appearance of placid, scenic lake surface.
