The Haut
- MeÌdoc enjoys an ancient reputation, perhaps better established than that of the MeÌdoc proper. ChaÌ‚teau Troupian is a part of the Lestage Simon estate, situated in the commune of Saint
- Seurin
- Cadourne. The vineyard, rooted in clay
- limestone soil, is dominated by the Merlot grape, producing a very feminine, slightly wooded wine. The Haut
- MeÌdoc enjoys an ancient reputation, perhaps better established than that of the MeÌdoc proper. This stems from its location
- closer to Bordeaux, its viticultural potential was recognised from the eighteenth century onwards, a quality its landholders and entrepreneurs were quick to harness. This region extends across a stretch of around 60 kilometres in the left bank of the Garonne and the Gironde rivers, to the north of Bordeaux. The wines of the Haut
- MeÌdoc AOC are characterised by their vivacity and their brilliance. Harmonious and well
- balanced, generous but not to excess, with time they develop a nose of remarkable excellence.
-
Their provenance also lends these wines a rich colouring and a full body. Nonetheless, they retain their distinctive MeÌdoc characteristics, marking them out as wines of distinction, appreciated as such throughout the world
