The Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2010 is a very nice St Julien with a refined minerality, a great opaque purple color. This is a blockbuster and fabulous Ducru Beaucaillou which is best bottle aged for another 8 years and is very nice to drink from 2020 to 2060+. The 2020 Ducru-Beaucaillou is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot, aged for about 18 months in 100% new barrels. Colored opaque purple-black, the nose slowly unfolds to reveal pungent scents of crushed black currants, wild blueberries and boysenberries and with some waltzes in the glass we smell chocolate mint, star anise, roses and unsmoked cigars with a hint of cedar wood. The medium-bodied palate delivers impressive, muscular black fruit with a firm frame of ripe, fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, with a long and fragrant finish.
