Classic is a own category in the German quality designation system. Grapes for Classic must meet higher ripeness requirements and can only be made from traditional varieties which are typical for the region, i.e. Riesling for the Mosel. Classic wines must always be made in a harmonious dry style only. A medium-bodied, elegant dry wine. Crisp and full of flavour hinting of ripe apples and a touch of the slate soil it was grown on.
