This Faiveley Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru comes from a premier cur vineyard located in the village of Nuits-Saint Georges and this sits smack in the middle of the famous Côte de Nuits AOC, separating the 41 Premier Cru vineyards that make up the region rich is effective in two groups: north versus south. Wines from the north tend to exhibit bright red fruit and floral aromas and flavors while those from the south offer more black fruit, earth driven, larger tannic wines. This appellation also shares a much-coveted border: across the border, you could have one foot in Vosne-Romanee and one foot in Nuits-Saint-Georges.
