Like the island of Islay, the Akkeshi distillery is located on the waterfront and is lulled by the air of the Pacific Ocean only a few metres away. Bordered by marshes, it has direct access to the local peat which enables it to produce unique Single Malt Peated and Blend.For this series of 24 called the "24 Solar Term Series", the distillery is inspired by the ancient Asian calendar which had 24 solar seasons. This fourth edition, called "Shosho", refers to the bottling date of the whisky at the end of summer, from 23 August to 7 September when "the temperatures start to drop", the period during which the cereals start to ripen.
