When you combine the sweet blackberry/plum flavoured sloe berries of the mythical Blackthorn plant with what many consider the best gin in the world, crafted in the Black Forest in Germany from an incredible 47 different botanicals (hence the number 47 in the name), the results are as spectacular as you could ever imagine. Montgomery Collins was the English army officer stationed in Berlin at the end of the second world War, that is said to have discovered the original recipe for this incredible Gin, while on leave in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) and we are all very grateful that he did. He is also the man that made sure the endangered monkeys in Berlin zoo did not perish on his watch, in the devastated city and that is why they are still on the label. Make no mistake, this is gin on another incredible level.
