Nonna Silvana is John Kirwans Italian mother-in-law, who always quietly asks for this Pinot Grigio when she comes around since her husband Nonno Mario only drinks reds at home. The Venetian wine that has her so enamoured is from a small town called San polo di Piave and is a lovely example of what Pinot Grigio can be when its made properly. Not like the thin, watery majority, this Pinot Grigio is full of rich flavours and texture, with a bone-dry finish, the perfect match for fresh seafood.
