The Proprietary Red Continuum is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot, 9% Merlot. In the glass, this great colored deep garnet purple. With an incredible array of tantalizing aromas of violets, lavender, rose hips, cherry, currant, dark chocolate, cigar box plus hints of bay leaves and some sort of crushed wet slate on the palate, the wine is full-bodied with vibrant black fruit fueled by red fruits, spices and mineral accents. It is framed with firm, grainy, super ripe tannins and ends with fantastic fragrance and freshness. This is (again) a masterpiece by Tim Mondavi and his team and is a wine that can gracefully grow very old. If you want to drink it in the short term, we advise you to decant it so that the wine can show its true character. You can impose this wine for at least 30+ years.
