Clos Fourtet is located opposite the large church of Saint-Emilion. The terroir consists of a clay-loam soil with a lot of lime. Harvesting is done manually and, as with all great houses, the first selection already takes place in the vineyard. The Clos Fourtet is a blend of 90% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Franc and has been aged for 16 months in 60% new and 40% second year French oak barriques
