Maison Boizel is one of the few large Champagne houses that is still a family business, now run by the 5th generation. The house is located on the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay. Joyau is the top cuvée and made in Extra Brut style from 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. A strict selection is used for the wine from the villages of Mailly, Cumières and Chigny les Roses (all three for Pinot Noir) and Avize, Chouilly and Vertus (for Chardonnay). 2008 is known as a top vintage in Champagne. The wine has matured on the yeast cells for 14 years before disgorgement.
