Where wine used to be the exclusive territory of winegrowers, it has also become the playground of celebrities with a passion for wine. Director Francis Ford Coppola, with great films to his name such as Apocalypse Now, is a wine lover from the very beginning. For him, the decision to buy a winery in the famed Napa Valley wine region was a logical consequence of this passion for wine and has been doing it since 1975. Francis Ford Coppola's wines are highly sought after and known for being powerful, perfectly balanced. In 2001 the Francis Ford Coppola winery was awarded the “Winery of the Year†(Wine & Spirits) award.
