Duhart-Milon is one of the most distinguished châteaux in the Pauillac appellation. In 1855, the château was included in the famous classification of Medoc wines. The château is now part of the Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) group. The history of Château Duhart Milon dates back to the early 18th century, when Château Lafite's owner, Marquis Nicolas-Alexandre de Segur, used Milon's wines as his 'second wine'. Around 1840 the château, now called Duhart-Milon, already owned 40 hectares of vineyards of the highest quality. After a difficult period in the middle of the last century, Duhart-Milon became the property of the Rothschild family. A new period of great prosperity began.
