The Grand Cru Classe Château Berliquet from Saint Emilion was taken over in 2017 by the famous luxury house Chanel. This domain is beautifully situated between Ausone and Angelus and has been on the rise since the acquisition of Chanel. This 2020 vintage also scores with Parker and Suckling (95-96(/100 points). The 2020 Berliquet is composed of 69% Merlot and 31% Cabernet Franc, with a weight of 14.5% alcohol. It matures in French oak. barrels of which 50% is new oak In the glass the Berliquet has a deep dark red-purple color The wine drifts out of the glass with stewed black cherries, warm plums and blackberries, plus notes of chocolate violets and licorice with a hint of fertile loam It is medium to full bodied on the palate with layers of ripe black fruit and earthy notes, framed by fine grained tannins and a super freshness ending with a long and fragrant finish.
