Ungeheuer is a legendary vineyard belonging to the village of Forst. Giant wines have been produced from this plot for centuries and Ungeheuer is more than rightly a Grand Cru (Grosses Gewächts) vineyard. At von Winning they have an important share. At the moment, this domain has both an entry-level Ungeheuer Kabinett trocken (under the name of Dr. Deinhard), as well as this von Winning Ungeheuer riesling. From 2012, the younger vines are used for the assembly of the entry-level Riesling (no indication of vineyard), and the best selection goes to the Ungeheuer Grosses Gewächs, fully compliant with VDP regulations.
