Hermitage is well known to lovers of the Rhône cru wines based on the noble Syrah grape. The Crozes
Hermitage is located in the Northern Rhône appellation which offers the greatest wealth of expression. In terms of surface area and number of winemakers, it is the primary vineyard area of Cave de Tain (16 times larger than the Hermitage vineyard), where we encounter two types of soils: granite and galets (small surface stones) in infinite combinations:
gravelly and filtering soils of the Rhône or the Isère in the south
mainly granite soils in a fresher climate in the north
