The 2018 Finca Villacreces is the first vintage where the wine is produced entirely with organically grown grapes and is therefore certified organic. Finca Villacreces is located on the best piece of land along the Douro River in Spain. Three wine estates are located on this "golden mile", including Vega Sicilia and Finca Villacreces. A unique terroir and all possibilities to make beautiful wines. This is 'new style' Ribera: powerful, firm yet juicy tannins and vinified according to modern techniques with respect for the grape and the region. The Finca Villacreces is very aromatic and attractive on the nose. The 2018 vintage is a year of great quality. This vintage is a blend of 87% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot which has been aged for 15 months in French oak barrels (50% new and 50% 2nd year). It smells of violets and exotic spices with a hint of graphite and tar. The taste is full bodied. It is a beautiful vintage in which everything is in proportion with a lot of fruit, tannins and enough acidity and a beautiful finish.
