In the 1960s, Giuseppe Inama, the founder of this renowned wine estate, started buying small plots of vineyards in the heart of 'Soave Classico'. The area was originally planted with the ancient "Graecanicum" (originating from Greece) variety. This name was then converted to "Garganega" in the local dialect. His idea was to collect only top quality vineyards from old Garganega vine, and turn them into a wine capable of restoring Soave's reputation. Today Inama counts as a reference for both white and red wines in Soave.
