Second wine of Chteau Lafite Rothschild, Carruades de Lafite presents characteristics similar to Grand Vin with its own personality linked to a higher proportion of Merlot and specific plots intended for the production of Carruades. The origin of the name comes from the "plateau des Carruades", the place name of a set of plots adjoining the rump of the Chteau and acquired in 1845.
