NEBBIOLO COSTE DELLA SESIA ANTONIOTTI 2022 DESCRIPTION
- Antoniotti's Nebbiolo Coste della Sesia is captivating in its integrity and charm, an authoritative testimony to one of the most suitable terroirs in Italy. A winemaking tradition that has its roots in the year of the birth of the Italian state, namely 1861, that of the Antoniottis who, through seven generations, have told the story of a prestigious winemaking area. Today, Odilio and Mattia are at the helm of the winery, with the unchanged credo of creating traditional liquids that are also enjoyable when young. Spontaneous fermentations in steel containers and refinements in large wooden barrels are the seal of conscientious work in the vineyard, where only a little copper and sulfur are used. A story to drink.
- The Coste della Sesia red is obtained from a blend consisting mainly of Nebbiolo as well as a very small amount of Croatina. The grapes, all very healthy, are harvested and selected by hand and grow without the use of chemical or synthetic substances. In the cellar, the procedure is the same, with destemming and crushing and spontaneous fermentation of the must in steel tanks. The liquid is refined for 12 months in large oak barrels, typical of a traditionalist approach.
- Antoniotti Coste della Sesia reveals itself in the glass with a pale garnet red color. Varied and territorial nose, which displays in succession violet, juicy cherry, orange peel, licorice and cinnamon. Classic but never affected, it invites tasting by virtue of its ability to be serious or casual when necessary. A delightful sip, chiseled and driven by an invigorating freshness, as well as by a perfectly integrated tannin. A splendid example of Nebbiolo, rightly considered among the greatest red grape varieties in the world.
