- In 1876 Tsar Alexander II, a lover of Champagne Louis Roederer, asked him to produce a cuve to his personal use. Louis then proposed a transparent glass bottle in which to develop the best selection of seven cru of his Domaine. Thus was born the Cristal Champagne worthy of an emperor that you can uncork to make every atmosphere sumptuous and regal.
