- This Etna Rosso Alta Mora€ was born from the ambitious project of Diego and Alberto, owners of Cusumano, to extend their possessions on the slopes of the Etna volcano. A desire that came to life in 2013, with the acquisition of some plots, from which the first wines of the Etna project of the winery, called Alta Mora, were born. After just a few years of production, it is clear how the wines produced here by Cusumano are part of a path as protagonists, as this Etna Rosso well demonstrates, whose characteristics are worth excellent recognition both nationally and internationally.
- This wine "Alta Mora" Etna Rosso is made by the Cusumano winery starting from the pure grapes of a great native red grape variety, Nerello Mascalese. This variety is grown using the espalier and sapling method, in volcanic vineyards located at around 600
- 800 metres above sea level, in the districts of Verzella, Pietramarina, Feudo di Mezzo and Solicchiata, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia. Once harvested, the grapes are softly pressed and then fermented, macerating for 12 days in steel, also carrying out malolactic fermentation. The aging phase then begins, which lasts 6 months in large 25
- hectoliter oak barrels.
