- Redigaffi by Tua Rita is a wine that rightfully enters to be part of that small circle of wines among the few to be considered a diamond tip for value, expression and innate elegance perceptible at the sip. Celebrated and acclaimed by many, it knows how to make itself desired and amazes. A demanding and unrivaled wine, it owes its name to the river that flows along the cellar.
- The creation of a wine now recognized worldwide as a highly sought
- after signature wine was perhaps not in the plans of the two spouses who own the cellar, Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti; but in 1994 the two spouses, always with the clear desire to seek the best territorial expression through their wines, without compromise and of extreme quality, understood that from two barriques of only Merlot, taken from Giusto di Notri, a liquid with unrivaled results was born. The vines from which Redigaffi is obtained are 30 years old and since 1992 the one who can now be considered one of the leading oenologists at an international level, Luca D'Attoma, has been moving among the rows. The latter was able to best express his skills here by choosing dense and low plants, reminiscent of Bordeaux, with a management system aimed at better yield and pursuing organic cultivation. In seeking the best expressiveness, D'Attoma himself understood that the central area of the land on a slight slope, with clayey, silty soil and with the presence of small skeletons was best suited to being planted with only Merlot. - Redigaffi is the result of a careful selection of the best grapes that are chosen parcel by parcel. Once they arrive in the cellar, they are fermented with only indigenous yeasts exclusively in oak vats and the maceration on the skins includes several punching downs to extract the maximum concentration clearly evident in the glass. The wine is aged for 18
- 20 months in French oak barriques, followed by a short period of bottle aging.
- Redigaffi is bright ruby red in appearance. On the nose, sensations of crunchy red fruit, oriental spices, cumin, tobacco, soft balsamic notes on light cocoa powder, red flowers, freshly worked leather and almost ferrous minerality are perceptible. On the palate, great balance emerges, it is warm, fresh, with rampant tannins that run through the elegantly long finish.
