Barolo Tortoniano is a robust and noble red from the Langhe that owes its name to the age of the arneariea marne and marine sediments that make up the land. The olfactory range is rich and full of black pulp fruit, sweet spices, juniper and violet with balsamic and mineral returns. The taste is full, long and energetic, large displacement! Wait a few years in the cellar to enjoy its full and perfect expressive maturation
- BAROLO 'TORTONIANO' MICHELE CHIARLO 2020 DESCRIPTION
- Barolo Tortoniano€ by Michele Chiarlo: the name alone suggests the origin and history that determine it. The Nebbiolo grapes that compose it are born and grow in the Barolo hemisphere which dates back, in fact, to the Tortonian era. This is a complex and elegant red, capable of exerting a magnetic attraction on the nose and palate. Cared for in the depths of Michele Chiarlo's cellar, this wine tells of a style of finesse that marks the features of each sip.
- "Tortoniano" is a Barolo coming from soils composed of gray tuffaceous marl dating back 9 million years. They have a marine sedimentary origin, with active limestone and basic pH. A great abundance of magnesium and manganese can be detected within them. At the end of the summer the bunches are thinned out and this constitutes the first activity of selecting the grapes. The harvest takes place in October, by hand. This is followed by maceration in contact with the skins for about 17/18 days, alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation, both inside steel containers. The refinement phase lasts a minimum of 3 years, of which 24 months are spent inside barrels of both large and medium size. Before being released for sale, it matures for some time in the bottle.
- Michele Chiarlo Barolo Tortoniano€ has a garnet red color with beautiful brightness. Its aroma is structured with notes of red fruit, rose petals and a background of earth and spices, among which juniper berries can be recognized. In the mouth it is balanced in structure and freshness, as well as in the silky tannic texture. The life of this Barolo can reveal great surprises, all to be revealed over time.
