ROERO ROSSO 'BRIC VALDIANA' GIOVANNI ALMONDO 2021 DESCRIPTION
- The Roero Rosso Bric Valdiana€ by Giovanni Almondo is a version of Nebbiolo that perfectly represents the traditional and classic style of the winery and the peculiarities of the Roero terroir. On the left bank of the Tanaro, in fact, the noble Piedmontese vine gives wines that are less powerful and structured than those in the Langhe area, all based on the delicate finesse of the fruit. It is a very pleasant red to drink even when young and which at the table highlights an extraordinary versatility in pairings.
- "Bric Valdiana" is a Roero Rosso fruit of the passionate work of one of the most interesting wineries in this area of Piedmont. The Giovanni Almondo winery is located in Mont and produces wines faithful to the traditions of the territory, using the main native vines of the region. The Nebbiolo vineyards enjoy a splendid and sunny position, located at an altitude of about 350 meters above sea level, with an exposure facing south, which guarantees excellent ripening of the grapes. The terrain of the Roero area is characterized by soft and draining soils, of a predominantly sandy matrix, with percentages of limestone, silt and clay. At the end of the harvest, the healthiest and ripest bunches are sent for fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature and with a maceration on the skins for about three weeks. The wine ages for 18 months in large oak barrels and completes its refinement with a few months in the bottle.

In the glass it presents itself as a beautiful ruby red with garnet reflections. The olfactory profile is elegant and delicate, with aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, wild strawberry, morello cherry, floral nuances of violet and dried flowers, hints of aromatic herbs and spices.
