Chardonnay 'Morino' Batasiolo is a rich and fragrant white wine produced in Piedmont, in the heart of the Langhe region. Barrel aging gives it roundness and smoothness on the palate, as well as delicate notes of vanilla and honey that are refreshed by more typical citrus and yellow fruit aromas. Very versatile in pairings, it can accompany white meats, fish and shellfish
- CHARDONNAY 'MORINO' BATASIOLO 2022 DESCRIPTION
- The Langhe Chardonnay 'Vigneto Morino' represents a completely Piedmontese interpretation of the most popular white grape variety in the world characterized by aromas of exotic fruit and fine woods. Produced for the first time with the 1990 vintage, the Chardonnay 'Vigneto Morino' was created to demonstrate the vocation of the Langhe area also for the cultivation of international grapes, which here benefit from both the high presence of limestone in the soil and the peculiar microclimate that distinguishes the area. In particular, the Morino plot is located in the heart of the Barolo production area, near the prestigious crus of Brunate and Cerequio.
- Batasiolo Langhe 'Vigneto Morino' Chardonnay comes from only grapes of the white grape variety of the same name grown in a vineyard planted on limestone soil with eastern exposure. The harvest is usually done by hand at the beginning of September and is followed by destemming and pressing of the bunches. The crushed grapes then undergo a cold pre
- fermentation maceration for 24
- 48 hours before soft pressing, with the resulting must undergoing alcoholic fermentation partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in French oak barriques. The subsequent maturation of several months always takes place in barriques on the fine lees with periodic batonnage and after a further period in the bottle the wine is finally ready for release on the market.
- The Chardonnay Langhe 'Vigneto Morino' by Batasiolo is an intense and brilliant straw yellow in colour with golden reflections. The nose offers fragrant hints of tropical fruit, grapefruit and yellow
- fleshed fruit that meet hints of honey, vanilla and fine woods. The taste is rich and balanced, broad and dry, with a consistent citrus and fruity finish that invites you to return to the glass.
