- Sagrantino Montefalco is the iconic wine of the territory, made by a historic producer. The Antonelli family has been present for 5 generations in Montefalco and today owns one of the largest and most important estates. In fact, it can count on about fifty hectares of vineyards, within a property of 170 hectares, which includes olive groves, woods and pastures. The vineyards are managed using organic farming, in full respect of a still uncontaminated nature. Healthy, genuine and high
- quality grapes are vinified with great care and delicacy, with the aim of always leaving the varietal characteristics and the most true and authentic face of the terroir in the foreground.
- The Sagrantino Montefalco produced by the Antonelli San Marco winery is one of the great Italian reds for aging. Its power and structure guarantee extraordinary longevity over time, with important aromatic evolutions. The grapes come from vineyards grown in the municipal territory of Montefalco, in the San Marco area, on hilly reliefs at an altitude of between 300 and 400 meters, with exposure to the south, south
- west. Fermentation takes place in steel with a long maceration on the skins. The wine ages for 6 months in tonneau, for 18 months in large oak barrels, for 12 months in cement tanks and ends the refinement process with another 12 months in the bottle. In the glass it has a dark and intense red color. The bouquet expresses dense and rich aromas of red fruit, shady hints of humus, spicy sensations, hints of tobacco and balsamic nuances. On the palate it denotes a notable structure, with an important tannic texture and a rich and complex sip, which extends towards a very persistent finish.
