- Massolino's Chardonnay colors a land with a long vocation for reds in white. Not just Nebbiolo, Dolcetto or Barbera, therefore, but also an extraordinary vocation to produce whites of finesse and longevity. This is the new frontier of Piedmont and the Langa, which has been able to bring its impeccable style also to the sphere of white grapes, with a magical territory as a guarantee of quality. The Massolino winery, one of the historic names in local viticulture, looks after this territory with great attention, almost in a family way. Every little patch of land is worked with the utmost respect, thus creating the conditions necessary to produce quality. The meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard is reflected in the glass of this Chardonnay, which is rich in flavor and finesse, with excellent prospects for a discrete refinement in the bottle.
- Massolino Chardonnay is obtained from a purity of the homonymous grape variety, coming from the vineyards located in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba at an altitude of 330 meters above sea level. The total surface area of the vineyards destined for the production of this white wine is approximately 4.2 hectares and is defined by a marly limestone soil. The average age of the vines is approximately 20 years. The harvest is done manually, usually in the second half of September. The vinification takes place mainly in wood: after a rest of about 6 months on its own fermentation yeasts, the wine continues its journey with refinement in barrique. A final phase of maturation in the bottle makes it ready for sale.
- Massolino's white Chardonnay has a straw yellow color. The bouquet perceived on the nose veers towards notes of ripe yellow fruit, citrus and an interesting mineral vein. On the palate, the freshness and softness of the sip are perfectly balanced, supported by a full and characterful structure. It heralds a personality to be revealed calmly.
