- called second wine€ of Chateau Haut €“ Bages Libral, the one that expresses the most accessible and immediate character of the estate, although not devoid of structure and complexity. The birth of the second Bordeaux wines dates back to the 19th century and these expressions allow on the one hand the cellars to maintain the quality standard of the first wines, for example by downgrading the grapes in the most difficult years, on the other hand they allow consumers to buy bottles of renowned Chateau at affordable prices.
- The Pauillac €˜La Chapelle de Haut €“ Bages Chateau Haut €“ Bages Libral originates from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (mainly) and Merlot, with the grapes which come from the youngest vineyards of about 15 years of age. The soils on which the vines rest, cultivated in accordance with the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, are of clayey
- calcareous matrix, rich in gravel. Once the ideal degree of ripeness has been reached, the bunches are hand
- picked and then pressed in stainless steel tanks and cement vats for alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature, combined with 18
- 24 days of skin maceration. Subsequently, the wine spends one year of maturation in oak barrels before final bottling.
