- The Amaro Leon€ Riserva, aged 7 years, from the Castagner Distillery is a refined and prestigious version of the classic herbal liqueur, revisited by one of the greatest masters of distillation. It is the fruit of a long research project, which originates from the ancient medieval custom of making infusions and elixirs with herbs, for medicinal purposes or as invigorating tonics. The experience gained in the art of distillation led Roberto Castagner to merge the fascinating world of botanicals with the Venetian tradition of grappa. A fortunate combination, which has given life to an intense, elegant liqueur with an extraordinary aromatic richness.
- Amaro “Leon” Riserva 7 Anni was born within the walls of one of the most important and famous distilleries in the Veneto. Roberto Castagner is unanimously recognized as one of the greatest interpreters of the still and his grappas are considered on a par with the most famous spirits from all over the world. Unlike classic herbal liqueurs, which are born from a base of pure alcohol, the version proposed by Castagner could not fail to have among its ingredients one of its most important and prestigious labels: the Grappa Riserva aged in barrique for 7 years. It is this intense and elegant distillate, which is mixed with alcoholic infusions of flowers, herbs, roots and spices, in order to enrich the taste and aromatic complexity. The olfactory profile is rich and multifaceted, with aromas that recall soft oriental spices, rhubarb, gentian, mountain herbs, wild flowers, vegetal nuances of dandelion and balsamic plants, on an enveloping and soft background of ripe yellow fruit. The sip is warm, complex and deep, with a very persistent finish, which returns to balsamic sensations.
