The name Carmes de Rieussec refers to the Carmes de Langon monks who owned the Rieussec estate in the 18th century.
- The vintage got off to a great start with a mild, dry winter. The fine weather continued in early spring, resulting in an early start to the vegetative cycle. But the days and nights became cooler and between March and May, the cold and dry weather slowed down the growth of the vegetation.
