Château L’Hospitalet is one of Gérard Bertrand's top estates, overlooking the Mediterranean coast, east of Narbonne. This is the estate's Grand Vin, produced from carefully selected Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes, from choice vineyard parcels. The grapes are hand-harvested and aged in new French oak for 12-16 months. The result is a wine with great concentration and balance. The bouquet is dominated by sweet spice and ripe red berries. The palate offers fine, silky tannins, which complement the fruity freshness, before a long finish with a characteristic garrigue herbal character shared by the best Languedoc wines.
