Alpha Zeta wanted to produce modern fruit driven wines from the hills outside Verona. Under the expertise of leading New Zealand Winemaker Matt Thomson this Amarone is a fruit driven wine dark purple in colour and full of rich aromas of ripe black cherry and plum fruit with a hint of Christmas cake. The palate is full bodied offering these fruit flavours with vannillin and coffee. The long finish has firm tannins and good acidity. Pair with red meat dishes and mature cheeses - an Amarone of exceptional value.
