He had to find a solution very quickly and called on his apprentice, Toni, who had prepared sweet breads for the cooks' table. The distinguished guests present looked at the bread with surprise. They tasted it and asked, "What is this delicious bread? The answer came: "Toni's bread". "We must find a name for this delicacy... El pan de Toni, we'll call it Panettone!"
