Alan Limmer really put the Gimblett Gravels on the map, his Stonecroft vineyard containing some of the oldest vines in the region. When Alan retired, he passed the torch to Dermot McCollum and Andria Monin. The pair have grasped the mantle with both hands, their opulent reserve range of reds ranking up there with the finest and most age-worthy wines annually. This Cabernet Sauvignon is a majestic and hedonistic expression of the grape, superbly inky and concentrated with poise and freshness in abundance. Eminently drinkable in its youth as the great reds are... it will be 10 years before she's nearing her peak and another 10 holding it.
