BAROLO 'ROCCHE DI CASTELLETTO' CASCINA CHICCO 2020 DESCRIPTION_x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ The Barolo 'Rocche di Castelletto' from the Piedmontese estate Cascina Chicco is configured as a powerful and profound expression of the municipality of Monforte d'Alba, an area where the Additional Geographical Mention 'Castelletto' is located, from which the grapes destined for this label come. Cascina Chicco's adventure with Nebbiolo for Barolo began in 2006, the year in which the Faccenda family, owners of the estate, purchased 8 hectares of land in the Ginestra and Castelleto crus, located in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. The challenge proved to be a winning one and today Barolo is an important name in the winery's selection._x000D_ _x000D_ The 'Rocche di Castelletto' Cascina Chicco Barolo is produced with only Nebbiolo grapes grown on clayey-calcareous soils in the inside the MGA of Castelletto, in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. Here, the altitude is about 400 meters above sea level while the exposure is south-west and west. The harvest is done entirely by hand with a careful selection of the bunches, which are then vinified in small stainless steel tanks with 15 days of alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins, accompanied by periodic pumping over. Maceration on the skins continues even after fermentation, for a total period of 40-45 days, at the end of which we proceed with the racking and subsequent aging for approximately 30-36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels of 20, 25 and 50 hectolitres. It follows a further long rest in the bottle before the final release on the market._x000D_ _x000D_ The Barolo €˜Rocche di Castelletto by Cascina Chicco is a bright ruby red colour with a garnet edge. The olfactory panorama is elegant, described by sensations of raspberry , liquorice and dried flowers that blend with hints of various spices and a bursting mineral vein. The sip is structured and intense, with the lively fresh-savoury component that combines with the dense tannic texture in a finish of prolonged persistence._x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ Colour_x000D_ _x000D_ Garnet red_x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ Scent_x000D_ _x000D_ Jammed raspberry, cherries, licorice, pepper, cinnamon, aniseed_x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ Taste_x000D_ _x000D_ Powerful, deep and harmonious, with fine but well-integrated tannins, persistent

Cascina Chicco's Barolo "Rocche di Castelletto" is a structured, robust red from the Monforte area. It is made in traditional large Slavonian oak barrels, ideal for leaving the Nebbiolo in the conditions to fully develop all its characteristics. At first glance, there are hints of flowers and red fruits, a profile that then develops with evolving aromas of spices and dried herbs. This is a red of great power, tannic and very warm, with a sip, however, finally finely harmonious
