SFORZATO DELLA VALTELLINA 'CARLO NEGRI' NINO NEGRI 2019 DESCRIPTION_x000D_ _x000D_ _x000D_ The red wine Sforzato di Valtellina Carlo Negri€ is a great example of what Nebbiolo can give in Lombardy, more precisely in Valtellina. A territory with a particularly difficult geographical conformation, in which the terraced vineyards of Nino Negri insinuate themselves with obstinacy and stubbornness, to give us expressive and qualitatively important wines. Just like this "Carlo Negri", a red wine made from dried grapes and featuring a powerful, full-bodied sip, in which the aromas become increasingly complex._x000D_ _x000D_ "Carlo Negri" is a Sforzato della Valtellina that the Nino Negri winery creates starting from pure Chiavennasca grapes, the term used in these areas to call Nebbiolo. The vines, trained using the Guyot system, grow in terraced vineyards facing south, located at an altitude of between 350 and 500 metres above sea level, characterised by a clay-loam terroir. Once harvested, the grapes are left to dry naturally for a period of three months, and then ferment in steel containers, macerating for 26 days. We then move on to the maturation phase, in which the wine rests in large oak barrels for 2 years, after which it is bottled._x000D_ _x000D_ The Sforzato della Valtellina Carlo Negri€ presents itself to the eye with a garnet red color. The nose is interesting, moving on concentrated and deep notes, in which the jammy fruit blends with sensations of sweet spices. On the palate it is of excellent body, velvety and material, almost tactile, with a sip that gives satisfaction to the palate; it ends with a finish of great persistence, characterized by a spicy olfactory aftertaste.
