One of the best kept secrets in Australia. Galway Pipe was named after the governor of South Australia from 1914
1920, Sir Henry Galway. He would visit the winery and select the finest ‘pipes' (500l barrels) of Grand Tawny. His favourite was inscribed with ‘Galway's Pipe' and used exclusively at Governor House. Port lovers in NZ will swoon over the fruitcake, raisin and complex nutty, rancio flavours. Note the name Port can only be used for wines from Portugal. Grand Tawny is the name adopted for this style of wine from Australia. Tawnies work best with salty, creamy cheeses.
