The vineyards are located at an altitude of 350 meters on sheltered terraces. The soil consists mainly of clay and chalk. The cuvee is composed of cinsault, grenache, syrah and rolle. Rolle is the same grape variety as the vermentino known in Italy. 10% of the wine was aged in old wooden barrels to give the wine character and creaminess. The grapes are picked by hand in 35kg crates. The grapes are selected in the chateau and given a very mild pressing and even for the Miraval Blanc only free-flow juice is used.
